Magnify is a research magazine unlike any other.

We’re removed from the rushing of stories and bad-news-sells rhetoric. Instead, Magnify prides itself on slow journalism, releasing bi-monthly issues on a single topic of public interest, and each topic is chosen based on actual data.

Not only does this emphasise the contemporaneous nature of the University’s research, but also an understanding around issues of social importance. Scroll for the full rundown…

On the first day of every other month, this chosen topic will be responded to with three long-form articles:

  1. ‘The Noise’ is an unbiased overview of the topic straight from the public arena
  2. ‘The Expert’ is an interview with a relevant academic, where they set the record straight
  3. ‘The Impact’ is an insight into the tangible effects of this topic on local communities

Magnify’s foundations are built in trust, expertise and accessibility. The magazine’s goal is to empower the general public with fair and accurate information that prioritises people over profit.
